Over the past few days, I’ve taken some time to reflect on our past year together and to think about the direction our company is headed in the future. And what has jumped out at me, overwhelmingly, is how much I love what we do.
In our industry, we get to advocate for business owners, employees, and families. We help people put the plans in place that will help enable them to maintain their dignity and a sense of normality if tragedy strikes. I consider it an absolute privilege to serve in that way.
I love, too, that we get to be the masters of our own destiny. There is no challenge that we face professionally that focused prospecting and good hard work can’t overcome. Our line of work lets us be entrepreneurial-minded freethinkers. How smart we work and how hard we work determine our reward.
I am especially grateful for our firm, which has served the great state of Utah since 1893. We have deep roots! Our exceptionally experienced and diverse staff makes us a stronger company. From our seasoned colleagues to our newest associates, from support staff to management, everyone is absolutely dedicated to supporting our clients and each other. I love the spirit of team work and service that exists within the culture of our firm.
And I get to be a GA! Every day presents new opportunities for me to improve. I get to celebrate everyone’s victories and to offer support in moments of disappointment. It’s my job to go to bat for our associates, to advocate for you, and to stand up for the greater good. This role forces me out of my comfort zone and pushes me to be my best self each and every day. Mentoring new professionals and working with some of the best people in the industry is a source of richness for me that I wouldn’t trade for anything.
Over the past few days I’ve come to realize how truly lucky I am, and I owe it all to you. I love each one of you and all that you stand for, and I thank you for that from the bottom of my heart.
Looking forward, I see a spectacular future of opportunity for our company. What we will experience together will continue to be life changing. The good that we can accomplish is tremendous.
